Cipher isn't a company.
It's a bot that works.
No investors. No premium tiers. No "upgrade to unlock" popups. Cipher exists because managing a Discord server shouldn't cost $30/mo across five different bots.
How we got here
v1 — The start
Cipher started as a single-file bot with 12 commands. Music, basic moderation, and an 8ball. It worked, but it wasn't maintainable.
The rewrite
Complete v2 rewrite: ESM modules, cog architecture, proper service layer, database abstraction. 92 commands across 10 categories.
AI integration
Added 8-provider AI failover chain. Cerebras, Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek — all free, all chained. Image generation, code help, translations.
Dashboard + hardening
Web dashboard with per-server module toggles. API key auth. Auto bug reporter with AI-generated user explanations. Still $0.
What we believe
Free, actually
Not "free tier" free. Not "free with credit card" free. Free as in $0 forever, every feature, no asterisk.
One bot, not five
Most servers run MEE6 + Dyno + Carl-bot + a music bot + an AI bot. Cipher replaces all of them. Less clutter, fewer permission conflicts.
Failover by default
AI providers go down. Rate limits happen. Cipher chains 8 providers and silently falls back. Users never see the failure.
Config without commands
The web dashboard handles everything. Don't want to memorize /config flags? Just click toggles. Settings persist across restarts.
