Terms of Service
Last updated: July 3, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By adding Cipher to your Discord server, using our website, or logging into the dashboard, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please remove the bot and discontinue use.
2. Use of the Service
Cipher is provided as a free service. You agree not to misuse the bot, attempt to disrupt its operation, or use it for unlawful activities. We reserve the right to restrict access at our discretion.
3. Dashboard Access & Authentication
The dashboard requires Discord OAuth authentication. When you log in, we request access to your Discord username, avatar, and the list of servers you manage. You may only manage servers where you have administrator or manage server permissions. Your Discord access token is stored in a secure, HTTP-only session cookie for up to 1 hour and is used solely to verify your permissions.
4. AI Features
AI-generated content may be inaccurate or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it. We are not liable for damages resulting from AI-generated content. AI conversations are processed by third-party providers and are not permanently stored by us.
5. Server Configuration & Event Tracking
When you use the dashboard to configure your server, settings are stored on our servers and associated with your server ID. You may delete or modify these settings at any time through the dashboard or by removing the bot from your server.
Server admins may enable event tracking to log Discord events (messages, member changes, voice activity, reactions, channel/role/emoji changes, presence updates). Event tracking is off by default and must be explicitly enabled per category. Event logs contain only metadata (user IDs, channel IDs, timestamps) — no message content is stored. All event logs are automatically deleted after 90 days and can be manually cleared at any time via the dashboard.
6. Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The bot may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to external factors.
7. Limitation of Liability
Cipher is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
